This 6ft x 6ft Closeboard Fence Panel is the full-height option for strong privacy and a clear boundary line. It’s the usual choice for rear gardens and side runs where you want to block views, reduce draughts, and make the garden feel more sheltered. Full-height closeboard fencing also gives a smart, consistent look along long boundaries when fitted level.
We make these fence panels in-house from feather edge boards for a proper closeboard finish. The face uses 18 boards at 125mm wide, overlapped and nailed onto 75 x 32mm backing rails. This 6ft panel uses four rails, giving the boards extra support across the height. On full-height fencing, that support helps reduce flex and movement, and it helps the fence run stay looking straighter through the seasons.
The panel is unframed, so it fits neatly between posts and keeps edges clean in each bay. It also makes it easier to keep bays consistent, especially when replacing panels along an existing run. The top edge is finished with a weather capping strip to help shed rain and reduce water sitting on the timber at the top edge.
All timber is pressure treated with the traditional green finish. Treatment helps protect the timber through the section, but installation is still key. Keep the panel off the ground and avoid letting soil or gravel build up against the boards. If you need to trim a panel to suit a tight bay, treat any fresh cut ends with a suitable end-grain preservative to keep protection where the timber is newly exposed.
