This calculator estimates the main materials needed for a feather edge fence run. It works from a 2.4m bay layout and uses feather edge boards that are 125mm wide with a 25mm overlap. That gives 100mm of coverage per board.
The total fence length is divided into 2.4m bays. The calculator then allows one more wooden post than the number of bays. MOT rails are calculated per bay, with 2 rails per bay for lower fencing and 3 rails per bay for 5ft and 6ft fencing.
