Introduction

Allder Investments Limited (Company No 11794674), trading as East Coast Fencing (“we”, “us” or “our”), operates the website eastcoastfencing.com (the “Site”). Protecting your personal data is of paramount importance to us. You can browse most areas of our Site without disclosing any personal information; however, if you wish to register an account, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter or access other special services, we will need to process personal data. Where no other lawful basis applies, we will first obtain your explicit consent (for example, via our Google Consent v2 banner).

Data Collection & Use

We collect two categories of data. First, identifiable data that you provide directly—such as your name, postal and email addresses, telephone number, account credentials and payment details—when you register, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter or otherwise contact us. Second, non-identifiable technical data gathered automatically—such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, referrer URLs and timestamps—via cookies, web beacons and server logs. We use identifiable data to process and fulfil your orders, send confirmations, invoices and delivery updates, handle returns and provide customer support; to manage your account, remember your preferences and personalise your experience; and, with your consent, to include you in marketing activities. Non-identifiable data supports site analytics, performance optimisation, fraud prevention and security monitoring.

Lawful Bases for Processing

Our processing relies on the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR: performance of contract to complete your orders; legitimate interests for site security, analytics, fraud prevention and service improvements (subject to a recorded Legitimate Interests Assessment); legal obligation for accounting and tax compliance; and consent for non-essential cookies, marketing communications and advertising audiences. Where consent is required, no non-essential scripts or tags will be deployed until you grant permission through our consent-management tool, and you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Third-Party Services

We integrate the following third-party services, each governed by a strict Data Processing Agreement and only activated once you have consented where required: Google Tag Manager (GTM) to orchestrate our scripts; Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and GA4 Enhanced Ecommerce for usage and e-commerce tracking; Google Ads for advert delivery and remarketing; Bing Ads for search-engine advertising; Mailchimp for email marketing campaigns and newsletters; and the Trustpilot extension to gather service and product reviews automatically. When you place an order, we share certain order details—such as date of purchase, items ordered and order value—with Trustpilot so that they can invite you to leave feedback. No personal data is sold.

Cookie Usage

Our Site uses essential cookies—such as those for user authentication and shopping-basket persistence—by default, and performance or marketing cookies only after you opt in via Google Consent v2. You can review, adjust or withdraw your cookie choices at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link in our footer.

Data Retention & Logging

When you register or place an order, we record your provided data along with your IP address and timestamp to deter abuse. Order & invoicing data is kept indefinitely to support customer service, warranty claims and long-term record-keeping. You may update or delete your account details at any time via “My Account,” subject to our retention obligations.

Our server automatically logs standard information—browser, OS, referrer URL, pages accessed, date/time, IP address and ISP—to help deliver content correctly, defend against cyber-attacks and compile anonymised reports. Log data are purged after 90 days unless needed for an ongoing investigation.

Marketing Communications

With your consent, we may also send promotional messages by SMS to the mobile number you provide (for example, offers, back-in-stock alerts and updates about our ranges). You can opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in the message or by contacting us.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the rights to access, rectify, erase or restrict your personal data; to object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing; to withdraw consent; to port your data in a structured, machine-readable format. To exercise any of these rights, or for any privacy enquiry, contact us by telephone on 0330 133 0896.
