Picket Pales
Picket pales are used to build traditional open fencing for front gardens, paths, lawns and low garden boundaries. Their individual construction allows you to choose the spacing and finished width of the fence, making them useful for custom-sized runs, repairs and areas where a standard panel may not fit.
East Coast Fencing supplies pressure treated wooden picket pales in 0.9m and 1.2m lengths. Choose from pointed and round top styles in brown or green and natural treated finishes.
Pointed and Round Top Picket Pales
Pointed top picket pales provide a familiar, traditional appearance that works well in cottage-style gardens, front boundaries and around planted areas. The shaped tops create a clear, defined line along the fence.
Round top picket pales have a softer finish and suit family gardens, paths and welcoming front boundaries. Both styles offer the same practical open construction, so the choice mainly depends on the appearance you prefer.
0.9m and 1.2m Picket Pales
Our 0.9m picket pales are suited to lower boundaries where you want to define a garden without blocking views or making the space feel enclosed.
The 1.2m pales create a taller picket fence with greater separation while retaining the light and open appearance associated with this style of fencing.
75mm x 19mm Wooden Pales
Each picket pale has a 75mm x 19mm timber section, providing a clear face and a traditional proportion for garden fencing. The individual pales can be spaced evenly along suitable rails to create the required balance between openness and separation.
Measure the full fence run and decide on the gap between each pale before calculating the quantity needed. A consistent spacer can help create an even appearance across the finished boundary.
Pressure Treated Picket Pales
All of our picket pales are pressure treated for outdoor use, helping protect the timber against rot and fungal decay. Brown treated pales provide a darker, more traditional finish, while green or natural treated timber has a lighter appearance.
Both finishes will gradually weather outdoors. Variations in grain, knots and colour are normal features of natural timber.
Picket Pales or Picket Fence Panels?
Individual picket pales are a practical choice for non-standard widths, repairs and fencing built to suit a particular garden layout. They give you greater control over the spacing and overall length of the fence.
For a quicker option in standard-width fencing bays, consider our ready-made picket fence panels. These provide a complete framed section that can be fitted between suitable posts.
