Privacy Square Trellis
Privacy square trellis provides closer screening than standard open trellis while still allowing daylight and airflow through the panel. Its compact square pattern makes it a practical choice for garden boundaries, patios, seating areas and planted spaces where additional privacy is needed without fitting a fully solid fence.
East Coast Fencing manufactures pressure treated privacy square trellis in-house using rough sawn timber battens. All panels are supplied in a standard 1.83m width, with heights from 0.3m to 1.83m and brown or green and natural treated finishes available.
Wooden Privacy Trellis Panels
Wooden privacy trellis can be fitted between posts, fixed against a suitable wall or used above existing fence panels. The closer lattice spacing provides more screening than traditional square or diamond trellis while retaining a lighter appearance than solid fencing.
The regular square pattern suits both traditional and modern gardens. It works well around patios, garden seating and visible boundaries where privacy and decorative detail are both important.
Privacy Trellis for Garden Screening
Privacy square trellis helps reduce direct views through a boundary while keeping the garden brighter and less enclosed than a solid panel. It can be used as standalone screening or combined with planting to create a softer, greener boundary over time.
Lower panels provide light screening and decorative detail, while taller privacy trellis offers greater coverage for patios, garden divisions and boundary areas.
Privacy Square Trellis Heights
Low 0.3m, 0.45m and 0.6m privacy trellis panels are suitable for adding height and screening above existing fencing. They can also be used as decorative sections above low walls or around planted areas.
Mid-height 0.9m and 1.2m panels work well for patios, seating areas and internal garden divisions. Taller 1.5m and 1.83m panels provide the greatest level of screening within the range while still allowing some light and airflow through.
Privacy Fence Topper Trellis
Low privacy square panels can be fitted above an existing fence to increase the overall height and reduce overlooking. Their closer spacing provides more screening than open traditional trellis without creating a completely solid upper section.
For a wider choice of low panels designed for fitting above fencing, browse our fence topper trellis. Include the panel, gravel board and trellis when planning the finished boundary height.
Pressure Treated Privacy Trellis
Our privacy square trellis is pressure treated for outdoor use, helping protect the timber against rot and fungal decay. Brown treated panels provide a darker finish, while green or natural treated panels retain a lighter timber appearance.
Both finishes will gradually weather after installation. Variations in grain, knots and colour are normal features of natural timber.
Privacy Square or Traditional Trellis?
Privacy square trellis has smaller openings and provides a stronger level of screening. It is best suited to areas where reducing direct views is more important than maintaining a very open boundary.
Traditional trellis has a more open square grid that allows additional light and airflow through. It is generally preferred for climbing plants, decorative features and lighter garden divisions.
Privacy Square or Horizontal Slatted Trellis?
Privacy square trellis has a regular lattice pattern that suits both traditional and contemporary gardens. Its close spacing provides consistent screening across the panel.
Horizontal slatted trellis has straight horizontal lines and a more modern appearance. Both options provide partial privacy, with the best choice depending on the style of the garden and the pattern you prefer.
