The 1.83M x 1.2M Privacy Square Trellis - Pressure Treated Brown is a medium-height privacy trellis for more substantial screening. Measuring 1.83m wide by 1.2m high, it uses an approximately 50mm square lattice, so the openings are noticeably tighter than our traditional square trellis. That closer pattern is the main reason to choose privacy square trellis when you want more screening without replacing the boundary with a solid panel.
East Coast Fencing manufactures this panel from pressure-treated 16 x 38mm rough sawn trellis batten. The rough sawn finish is intentional: it gives the trellis a practical fencing-timber character rather than the smooth surface of planed decorative joinery. With 1.2m of height, this panel can form a strong visual screen when fixed to suitable posts or framing, or provide a broad climbing surface against a wall or boundary. It remains open lattice, so it reduces sight lines rather than creating complete privacy.
The 1.2m height suits projects where a significant area of lattice is required but a full-height trellis would be excessive. It can work well beside seating areas or along a partially screened boundary because the closer squares soften sight lines without blocking all light. Plan the support positions around the 1.83m panel width so the edges are fixed properly rather than left spanning unsupported.
The brown pressure treatment gives the timber a darker, warmer appearance that sits naturally alongside brown-treated fencing. Pressure treatment is applied for exterior use and improves the timber’s resistance to decay compared with untreated wood; the colour will still weather and vary naturally outdoors.
