Which tool should I use?

For timber projects, the railway sleeper calculator and feather edge fence calculator are more specific. The railway sleeper calculator is designed around our 100mm x 200mm x 2.4m sleepers, while the feather edge fence calculator uses 125mm feather edge boards with 100mm effective coverage.

No. They are planning guides. The quantities needed can change depending on ground conditions, slopes, gates, corners, cuts, waste and how the fence is installed.

Do these tools include gates?
The fence materials calculator includes basic gate allowances. Other tools may not include gates unless stated, so check the notes on each calculator before using the result to order.
Do I still need to check my measurements?
Yes. Always check the fence line carefully before ordering. It is worth allowing for changes in direction, uneven ground, existing walls, old posts and any cuts needed on site.
