Is a 6FT x 6FT fence panel exactly 6ft high?

Quick Answer

No. Our full-height panels described as 6FT high are generally published at 1800mm high. The width is separately listed at 1830mm on several in-house ranges or 1828mm on our imported decorative panels.

No. The feet dimensions in our fence-panel names should be treated as nominal size descriptions, with the published millimetre dimensions used when accurate measurements matter.

For example, our 6FT x 6FT Closeboard Fence Panel is 1830mm wide but 1800mm high. The full-height 6FT x 6FT Waney Lap Fence Panel uses the same 1830mm width and 1800mm height.

Our imported decorative ranges use a slightly different width. The 6FT x 6FT Double Slatted Fence Panel is 1828mm wide and 1800mm high.

This means the two uses of 6FT within a product name do not necessarily convert to the same millimetre measurement. The width may be 1830mm or 1828mm depending on the range, while these full-height panels are specified at 1800mm high.

For replacement fencing or setting out a new run, use the actual millimetre specification of the chosen product rather than calculating the opening solely from the feet-based product name.
