Our loose fence capping measures 1.83m long with a 45 x 16mm section. It is designed to finish the upper edge of compatible timber fencing and cover the exposed top of the boards.
For example, the 1.83m x 45 x 16mm green/natural capping can be measured against the actual panel top and shortened where required. Brown-treated capping is also available for darker treated fencing.
Capping is not a structural rail. Replacing it will not correct failed backing rails, loose boards or damaged posts. If those parts of a closeboard panel remain serviceable and only the top finishing timber has been damaged, replacing the capping separately avoids discarding an otherwise usable panel.
Match the existing capping profile and measure the actual top edge before cutting the replacement.
