No. The 47mm thickness of our wallplate is only one part of the product specification and does not determine the correct fixing by itself.
Our 2.4m x 100 x 47mm Wallplate is a rectangular pressure-treated timber section, with the green/natural 2.4m product explicitly specified as C16. Where it is fixed against another structure, our product guidance states that the supporting material matters as much as the timber itself.
A wallplate fixed to timber, masonry, concrete or another supporting material does not automatically use the same fixing simply because the wallplate remains 47mm thick. The product information specifically warns against treating ordinary wood screws as suitable for every wall or substrate.
The same principle applies to the C16 grade. It is a defined characteristic of the timber, but it does not turn the wallplate into a stand-alone structural solution or specify one universal fixing arrangement. The completed assembly still depends on its supports, spacing and fixings.
Use the 100 x 47mm dimensions when checking the timber component itself, then establish what it is being attached to before selecting hardware.
