Yes. Individual feather edge boards are available for local repairs, so a damaged board can be replaced where the existing rails and surrounding fencing remain suitable. Match the original board length and profile before ordering.
Yes. Our loose feather edge boards are specifically suitable for new closeboard fencing and local repairs, so one damaged board does not automatically mean rebuilding the complete run.
The replacement should be matched to the existing board rather than chosen from height alone. Our feather edge range uses a 125 x 22mm 2EX tapered profile and includes several lengths. For example, the 1.8m x 125 x 22mm 2EX feather edge board is intended for full-height closeboard fencing and repairs to runs using 1.8m vertical boards.
Feather edge boards are installed vertically with each board overlapping the next. When replacing one board, reproduce the existing overlap so the repaired section continues the same closeboard pattern rather than leaving a new gap or an unusually narrow exposed face.
If a board has to be shortened, the freshly exposed cut end should be re-treated before outdoor installation. The existing board length, tapered profile and treatment finish are therefore the useful specifications to check before selecting the replacement.
