The 1.8m x 125x22mm 2EX Feather Edge Board - Pressure Treated Green/Natural is a 1.8m-long board for substantial closeboard fencing where privacy and a continuous timber face are the main requirements. The board is sold as 125 x 22mm 2EX feather edge timber and has the tapered profile needed for overlapping vertical construction.

Because 1.8m is already a tall board, work from the required finished fence height rather than assuming this size is automatically right for every privacy boundary. If the design also includes a gravel board or other base component, that additional height needs to be considered before posts and materials are selected.

Build the supporting framework first using suitable posts and rails, then fix the boards vertically with consistent overlap. The wooden fence posts must be chosen around the overall fence and site conditions. Where a cant-rail system is being used, the rail line should be set before any boards are fixed so the repeated fixings remain consistent.

Green/natural pressure treatment gives the timber the familiar appearance of freshly treated fencing material and helps protect it for exterior use. Expect natural variation between pieces and gradual weathering once the timber is installed outdoors.

On long runs, use a string line for the board tops and check the overlap periodically rather than relying on the previous board as the only reference. Small spacing errors can accumulate over many boards and materially change the number required to complete the boundary.

Use the feather edge fence calculator to estimate board quantities, then verify the result against your measured run. Shorter and longer versions are available in the feather edge boards category if the 1.8m length does not suit the planned finished height.
