No. The brown finish used on our pressure-treated fencing timber is not a decorative paint coating. It gives newly treated timber a darker, warmer starting colour while the natural character of the wood remains visible.
This means brown-treated fencing timber should not be expected to have the completely uniform colour or surface associated with a painted manufactured product. Grain, knots, treatment marks and differences in shade can remain visible from one piece of timber to another.
The same principle can be seen across products such as brown cant rails, wooden posts, panel capping and our in-house manufactured trellis. The treatment colour provides the initial appearance while the timber continues to weather outdoors after installation.
Green/natural pressure-treated timber also retains natural variation. Choosing brown rather than green/natural therefore changes the starting colour, but it does not turn the timber into a painted or colour-matched decorative surface.
