Our cant rails come in 2.4m and 3.0m lengths because site-built feather edge fencing is not restricted to a standard 1.83m panel bay. The rails can be measured and cut around the actual post spacing.
Cant rails are longer than a standard fence panel because they are components for site-built closeboard fencing rather than parts that must always fit a fixed 1830mm panel bay.
Our cant rails are available in 2.4m and 3.0m lengths with a 125 x 47mm 2EX angled profile. They form the horizontal framework behind individually fitted feather edge boards.
Using loose rails and feather edge boards allows a fence to be built around the actual post positions. A rail can therefore be measured and cut for a non-standard bay rather than forcing every section of the boundary into the width of a complete panel.
The 2.4m cant rail provides additional material beyond a standard 1.83m bay, while the 3.0m version gives still more flexibility for longer sections and planned cuts.
The rail length should therefore be chosen from the fence being built, not from the assumption that every closeboard section must be 1.83m wide.
