The 3.0M 125MM x 47MM (2EX) Cant Rail - Pressure Treated Green/Natural forms part of the supporting framework behind traditional closeboard or feather edge fencing. This 3m pressure-treated rail is sold as a 125 x 47mm (2EX) cant rail, with the characteristic angled profile used to receive and support vertical overlapping feather edge boards.

Choose the 3m length when you need additional working length for wider or non-standard sections, longer repairs and jobs where a 2.4m rail would be too short or create an inconvenient joint. Do not cut rails from an assumed nominal bay width: set out the posts, measure each span and allow for the way the rail will actually be fixed into the chosen supports.

Green/natural pressure treatment gives the timber the familiar appearance of freshly treated fencing material and helps protect it for exterior use. Expect natural variation between pieces and gradual weathering once the timber is installed outdoors.

The rail should be fixed as part of a complete, properly supported fence framework. Keep the rail line consistent from bay to bay, use exterior-grade fixings and make sure the supporting posts are suitable for the intended fence height. Once the framework is secure, the feather edge boards can be fixed vertically with a consistent overlap.

Other sizes are available in cant rails. If you are planning the entire run rather than replacing one rail, our feather edge fence calculator can help with quantities, and the wooden fence posts range provides timber post options for compatible fencing systems.
