The 2.4m 100x47mm Wallplate - Pressure Treated Green/Natural is a 2.4m x 100 x 47mm rectangular timber section for suitable wallplate, fencing and outdoor framework applications. It is listed as C16 pressure-treated timber, so the strength grade is a defined product characteristic, although the suitability of the completed structure still depends on the way the timber is supported and fixed. The full 2.4m length is useful when a continuous fixing member is needed or when several shorter pieces are to be cut from one section.
Where a wallplate is fixed against masonry, concrete or another structure, the supporting material matters as much as the timber. Check that the substrate is sound and choose anchors designed for it; the fact that the timber is 47mm thick does not make ordinary wood screws appropriate for every wall or fixing situation.
The green/natural pressure-treated finish keeps the appearance close to freshly treated timber while providing preservative protection for exterior use. Treatment colour, knots and grain will vary naturally, and the initial green tone will mellow with exposure.
Mark the fixing positions before drilling and leave sensible distance from the timber edges and ends to reduce the risk of splitting. If the 2.4m length is being cut down, measure the actual span first and plan how the remaining material will be used so that an otherwise useful offcut is not created unnecessarily.
