The 6FT x 6FT Horizontal Hit & Miss Panel is the full-height option in this decorative range, intended for rear and side boundaries where screening is the main requirement. At 1800mm high, the staggered horizontal boards interrupt direct views across most of the panel while giving the fence a cleaner, more contemporary appearance than conventional vertical-board designs.
Manufactured in Poland and imported by East Coast Fencing, the panel is 6ft (1.828m) wide. That width has been chosen to match the traditional UK fence panel format. Many imported decorative panels are manufactured at 1.8m instead, which can be inconvenient in an existing 6ft bay. A 1.828m panel is therefore particularly useful for UK-spec layouts, though existing post centres and clear openings still need to be checked rather than assumed.
Construction uses a 45 x 45mm semi-planed timber frame with 100 x 5mm grooved slats fixed horizontally to alternating faces. Because each side covers much of the gap visible through the other, the hit & miss pattern provides substantial visual screening. Small openings remain within the construction, so this panel is not a completely solid privacy barrier and will still permit some airflow through the fence line.
The timber is pressure treated green/natural. At full height, post setting and support are particularly important. Keep the fence posts vertical, maintain consistent bay widths and do not force the 1.828m panel into a tight opening. Avoid direct soil contact with the lower frame; where appropriate to the installation, a gravel board can separate the timber panel from the ground.
