The 6FT x 5FT Horizontal Hit & Miss Panel is designed for garden boundaries where privacy is becoming a more important part of the buying decision but a full 1800mm panel is unnecessary. Its 1500mm height provides a substantial screen for side and rear gardens, while the alternating horizontal boards keep the appearance more contemporary than traditional vertical fencing.
This decorative panel is manufactured in Poland and imported by East Coast Fencing. Width is a true 6ft (1.828m), matching the traditional UK panel standard. That is deliberately different from the 1.8m width used by many other imported decorative panels. If you are replacing panels in an existing UK fence, the extra 28mm can make a meaningful difference, although the installed bay should always be measured before ordering.
The 45mm-deep panel is framed with 45 x 45mm semi-planed timber. Its 100 x 5mm grooved horizontal slats alternate between the front and rear faces. This staggered arrangement interrupts straight lines of sight and gives a higher level of screening than an open slatted panel, but it should not be treated as an airtight or completely opaque barrier because the hit & miss construction retains gaps between boards.
The timber has a green/natural pressure treatment for exterior use. On a 1500mm fence, alignment errors are easy to see, particularly because of the long horizontal lines. Keep the fence posts plumb, check each clear opening against the 1.828m panel width and support the panel while it is fixed. Keeping the bottom rail out of direct ground contact is advisable; if the design uses one, a suitable gravel board can provide a separate lower edge.
Choose this size when you want stronger screening than 900mm or 1200mm panels while retaining some openness below full fence height. Compare all sizes in hit & miss fence panels or browse other imported styles within decorative fence panels.
