The 6FT x 3FT Horizontal Hit & Miss Panel is a 900mm-high decorative panel for low boundaries and garden divisions where you want more visual screening than an open slatted panel but do not need a tall privacy fence. Horizontal boards give it a contemporary appearance, while the alternating front-and-back construction breaks up direct sight lines through the panel.

This panel is manufactured in Poland and imported by East Coast Fencing. It is made at 6ft (1.828m) wide rather than the 1.8m width commonly found on many imported decorative panels. That means the panel follows the traditional UK 6ft format and is better suited to standard-width UK fencing layouts, subject to checking the actual distance between existing posts.

The 45mm-deep frame is made from semi-planed timber with a 45 x 45mm section. The main face uses 100 x 5mm grooved horizontal slats fixed alternately on opposite sides of the frame. Because one row overlaps the line of sight created by the other, the panel screens more effectively from normal viewing angles than a single-sided slatted design. It is still not completely sealed, so small views and airflow through the construction remain part of the design.

The timber is pressure treated green/natural. At 900mm high, this size is most appropriate where boundary definition and moderate screening matter more than privacy. Check the clear bay between fence posts before fitting and keep the panel above soil level. If a base board is part of the planned fence, compare suitable gravel boards and include that extra height when setting out the run.

For taller boundaries using the same alternating-board construction, compare the 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm options in hit & miss fence panels. Other imported decorative styles are available under decorative fence panels.
