The 6ft (1.8m) concrete end fence post is designed to finish the final bay of a fence run. Its 100 x 125mm profile has a single panel slot, leaving the outer face closed instead of showing an unused second slot at the boundary end.
Steel reinforcement is encased within wet-cast concrete to form the post. Vibration finishing produces three smooth faces out of four and the visible top is formed into a pyramid profile. This construction gives the fence a ground-fixed support that does not require timber preservative treatment to avoid rot where it enters the soil.
The 100 x 125mm section gives the end post additional depth while keeping a narrower face than the 125 x 125mm corner and 3-way profiles. The single-slot arrangement is specifically for a true termination point, such as the end of a boundary beside a drive, wall, gate opening or open garden edge. Because only one panel enters the post, it is easier to keep the outward face neat at the end of the run. This is particularly useful where the post remains visible from a path, drive or adjoining area.
A 6ft end post gives a useful step up from the 5ft size when the final bay needs more installation allowance. It can work well on lower-to-medium fencing, but the end post still needs enough length below ground to support the last panel without sacrificing the intended top line. Use an end post where the fencing genuinely stops. If another fence line continues away from that point, a corner or 3-way post will usually provide the correct slot arrangement instead.
Measure the total run before setting the end post so the final bay lands cleanly at the intended termination point. Keep the single slot facing the last panel and check the visible outside face while the post is still adjustable. The extra 300mm over the 5ft size gives more room to work with, but the post still needs to be selected around the actual finished height rather than a nominal panel description.
