This 6ft (1.8m) concrete corner fence post is made for a right-angled change of direction. The 125 x 125mm post has slots on two adjacent faces so the two fence runs meet cleanly at one structural junction.
Steel reinforcement is encased within wet-cast concrete to form the post. Vibration finishing produces three smooth faces out of four and the visible top is formed into a pyramid profile. This construction gives the fence a ground-fixed support that does not require timber preservative treatment to avoid rot where it enters the soil.
The 125mm square section is larger than the 100 x 100mm intermediate profile, giving the corner a substantial junction point where two fence lines meet. The post should be rotated correctly before setting because both adjoining fence lines depend on the two slots facing the intended directions. Suitable fence panels can then meet directly at the corner.
The right-angle slot arrangement means the corner post should be oriented before concrete is placed around it. Once fixed, even a small rotational error can make both adjoining bays harder to line up.
The 6ft corner post gives more installation allowance than the 5ft version while remaining suited to relatively modest fence heights. It can be useful where one or both adjoining runs need a little more post below ground, but the 1.8m total still has to suit the complete corner build. Use this post only where two fence runs turn through a right angle. It is not a substitute for an intermediate post on a straight run or an end post at the final bay because the slot arrangement is different.
Establish both fence lines before fixing the corner post, then check that each slot points exactly along its intended run. A small rotational error at the corner can make two bays difficult to align. The extra 300mm over the 5ft size gives more room to work with, but the post still needs to be selected around the actual finished height rather than a nominal panel description.
