The 1.83M x 0.6M Traditional Square Trellis Panel - Pressure Treated Brown is a deeper topper or open low screen, measuring 1.83m wide by 0.6m high. Its approximate 100mm square openings create a classic, open lattice that is well suited to climbing plants and decorative boundary work where daylight and airflow are more important than close privacy screening.

We manufacture this traditional square trellis at East Coast Fencing from pressure-treated 16 x 38mm rough sawn trellis batten. The 600mm height gives climbers more room to establish and makes the trellis more visible as part of the boundary design. The larger square openings keep the panel relatively open, which is useful where light and airflow matter more than privacy. Rough sawn timber has a visibly textured surface, so natural knots, grain, saw marks and small variations are part of the product rather than a smooth planed finish.

At 600mm high, the trellis becomes a more substantial part of the fence design. It gives climbing plants a useful upper framework and can make a lower fence feel taller without replacing it with a solid panel. Compared with privacy trellis, the approximate 100mm squares keep the result much more open, so it is best where planting and light matter more than reducing overlooking.

The brown pressure treatment gives the timber a darker, warmer appearance that sits naturally alongside brown-treated fencing. Pressure treatment is applied for exterior use and improves the timber’s resistance to decay compared with untreated wood; the colour will still weather and vary naturally outdoors.

The larger squares give stems room to pass through and make tying or training climbers straightforward. They also mean the panel remains visually open when plants are sparse or dormant. If you specifically want tighter screening, compare it with our privacy square trellis, which uses a closer square pattern.

When using this size above a fence, fix it back to sound posts or suitable framing and use exterior-grade fixings for treated timber. Check the finished height before installation and make sure the existing fence is capable of carrying the additional panel. Other topper sizes can be compared in our fence topper trellis range.
