This 6 inch smooth concrete gravel board is a practical way to protect the bottom of your fence without adding too much height at the base. It is designed to sit under fence panels, lifting timber clear of wet ground and reducing splashback onto the lowest boards. The smooth face gives a clean, simple finish along the fence line.

Our concrete gravel boards are web cast and steel reinforced, then vibration finished. They are roughly 45mm thick, which gives a solid, durable board that stands up well to everyday garden wear. Many customers choose concrete where fences run alongside lawns and paths, or where the ground stays damp for long periods.

A 6 inch board is often used where you want protection at the base but need to keep the overall fence height down, or where the garden level is already higher on one side. It is also useful for stepped fences on slopes, as the smaller height can make transitions look more natural. If you are matching existing fencing, measure the current gravel board height before ordering.

Installation will depend on your post type. With concrete fence posts, the board typically slots into the grooves. With timber fence posts, it is normally fixed between posts with suitable fixings and support. Setting posts accurately and keeping the board level makes panel fitting easier and gives a neater finish. Concrete is heavier than timber, so consider access and handling, especially on longer runs.
