This 12 inch smooth concrete gravel board provides a plain, solid base for a 6ft (1.83m) fencing bay. At 305mm high and approximately 45 to 55mm deep, it is suited to installations where a substantial concrete barrier is wanted beneath the timber fence panel without the decorative detailing of a recessed board.

The smooth face gives the bottom of the fence a simple, uniform appearance. More importantly, placing concrete between the timber panel and the ground helps keep the panel away from damp soil and reduces repeated moisture and splashback around its lower edge. Concrete also avoids the ground-level timber decay that can eventually affect wooden gravel boards.

This board is steel reinforced and vibration finished. The 12 inch height is a meaningful part of the buying decision because it raises the panel by 305mm. Check the intended overall fence arrangement before ordering rather than choosing the panel and gravel board independently. If you are replacing an existing gravel board, confirm both the height and bay width so the replacement matches the surrounding fence.

The 1.83m length is designed around a standard fencing bay and works with suitable slotted concrete fence posts. Set the posts accurately and keep the board level within each bay. On a slope, concrete boards are normally stepped from one bay to the next rather than being made to follow the gradient, so plan those changes in level before fixing the posts.

Choose this smooth version if you want the concrete base to remain visually simple. Other heights and face styles are available within our concrete gravel boards range, while the wider gravel boards category also includes pressure-treated timber alternatives.
