These John George Flush Head 150mm Screws are supplied in a tube of 10 for smaller landscaping jobs, repairs and one-off timber joints where only a few long fixings are required. At 150mm long, they are intended for thicker timber sections where a conventional short wood screw would not provide enough reach into the receiving piece.

Each screw is made from hardened steel with a green organic coating. The supplied specification states that this finish has been tested to 1,000 hours of salt spray resistance. The self-drilling point helps the fixing start into timber, the milling shank assists as the screw passes through the material, and the flush head is designed to finish close to the timber surface.

This length can be useful when joining suitable railway sleepers and other substantial landscaping timber. Do not choose the fixing by length alone: check the thickness of both pieces being joined so the screw gains useful engagement without the tip breaking through where it could create a hazard. A pilot hole may still be worthwhile close to an end or edge, particularly if the timber is dry or shows a tendency to split.

One driver bit is supplied with the tube. Choose the 10-pack when a full box would leave unnecessary surplus; for larger projects, the same fixing is available as a box of 50. Further options are available in our screws, fixings and fasteners range.
