Yes. Across our 5ft to 9ft concrete intermediate posts, the internal shoulder is positioned approximately 600mm from the bottom of the post. Choosing a longer post changes the overall length rather than proportionally moving this gravel-board support.
Yes. The published specification for our concrete intermediate posts places the internal gravel-board shoulder approximately 600mm from the bottom across the different post lengths.
This applies to the intermediate range from the 5ft (1.5m) Intermediate Post through the 6ft, 7ft and 8ft versions to the 9ft (2.7m) Intermediate Post.
The shoulder is formed inside the slot to support a compatible concrete gravel board. Its purpose is to provide a defined support point for the base component beneath the timber fence panel.
Increasing the overall post length therefore does not mean that this shoulder moves proportionally further up the post. The 9ft intermediate post is 1.2m longer overall than the 5ft version, but both product descriptions place the shoulder at approximately 600mm from the bottom.
The additional post length is instead available as part of the overall installation where a taller arrangement, changing levels or more below-ground post is required. Post length still needs to be chosen around the complete fence design rather than from the shoulder position alone.
