This 6ft x 5ft Waney Lap Fence Panel is a good choice when you want stronger privacy on a boundary but still need to keep costs sensible. At 5ft high it works well on side runs and rear gardens, helping reduce overlooking and creating a more sheltered feel. It’s also a popular like-for-like replacement where older overlap panels have seen better days.

Made in-house by East Coast Fencing, these fence panels are pressure treated for outdoor use and finished with a weather capping strip along the top edge to help shed rain. Waney lap is the traditional overlap style, using horizontal boards lapped over each other to provide good coverage at a budget friendly price. The brown finish gives the familiar treated look many gardens already have, so it’s easy to match in with existing fencing.

For the neatest finish, keep your posts straight and your bays consistent so the top line runs cleanly. Allow a small clearance so the panel drops in without forcing, and keep the bottom edge clear of the ground. Try not to let soil or gravel build up against the panel over time, as constant damp at the base is what tends to cause trouble first.

This panel can be used with timber or concrete posts depending on the look and structure you prefer. If you’re choosing posts as part of the job, see our fence posts range, including wooden fence posts and concrete fence posts. For other heights in the range, browse waney lap fence panels.

If you want a traditional overlap panel that gives good privacy and keeps the job affordable, this 6ft x 5ft brown waney lap panel is a solid pick.
