This 6ft x 4ft Point Top Picket Fence Panel is a good choice when you want a taller picket fence that still keeps the garden feeling open. At 4ft high it gives more boundary presence than the lower sizes, making it suitable for front garden runs where you want extra definition, side boundaries, and internal dividers. The pointed top finish gives a traditional look that suits both period properties and more formal garden layouts.

The panel is pressure treated for outdoor use and built from thirteen 75 x 19mm picket pales fixed to two 75 x 32mm back rails. The pales are spaced at roughly 75mm, creating a consistent picket pattern along the fence line. Because the design is open, it allows light and airflow through, which helps avoid the fence feeling heavy, especially in smaller gardens.

For a neat finish at this height, posts and layout matter. Keep post centres consistent so fence panels sit comfortably without forcing, and allow a small clearance at the bottom so the timber isn’t sat in damp ground. If you’re working on a slope, stepping the run usually gives a cleaner look than trying to follow the ground in one line.

This panel can be used with either timber or concrete posts depending on the look and the conditions. If you’re choosing posts, see our fence posts, including wooden fence posts and concrete fence posts. For matching heights and styles, browse our picket fence panels.

With its pointed tops and tidy spacing, this 6ft x 4ft picket panel gives a traditional finish with extra height for stronger boundary definition.
