The 1.83M x 0.6M Slatted Trellis - Pressure Treated Brown is a deeper fence topper or low slatted screen, measuring 1.83m wide by 0.6m high. Instead of a square lattice, the battens run horizontally to give the panel a strong linear appearance and a different style of filtered screening.
East Coast Fencing manufactures this slatted trellis from pressure-treated rough sawn timber. The 600mm height provides enough area for the horizontal layout to become a clear design feature. It works well where some screening and plant support are wanted while still allowing light through the gaps. The surface is intentionally textured rather than smooth planed, so knots, saw marks, grain and small natural variations remain visible.
The 600mm size is where the product starts to work as both a topper and a meaningful screen. It adds a broad horizontal band above fencing, which can soften overlooking and provide a larger planting framework. Because the extra area catches more wind than a shallow topper, check the supporting posts rather than assuming any existing fence can simply take another two feet of timber.
Brown pressure treatment gives this panel an immediately darker tone while protecting the timber for outdoor use. It is not a decorative paint finish: natural variation in colour, grain and knots remains visible and the shade will change as the timber weathers.
The horizontal format can support climbing plants, but it is also useful where the trellis itself is intended to be seen as part of the garden design. Fix plant growth as required rather than assuming every climber will naturally attach to horizontal timber. You can compare all sizes in our horizontal slatted trellis range.
When fitting above a fence, support the trellis from sound posts or suitable framing and use exterior-grade fixings. Check the finished height before work begins and remember that adding trellis increases the exposed area of the boundary. Other low-height designs are available under fence topper trellis.
