The 1.83M x 0.3M Slatted Trellis - Pressure Treated Brown is a slim horizontal fence-topper, measuring 1.83m wide by 0.3m high. Instead of a square lattice, the battens run horizontally to give the panel a strong linear appearance and a different style of filtered screening.
East Coast Fencing manufactures this slatted trellis from pressure-treated rough sawn timber. The 300mm height adds a restrained linear detail above fencing without turning the top of the boundary into a large screen. It is useful for light climbers, low decorative sections and projects where the horizontal lines are wanted more for finish than privacy. The surface is intentionally textured rather than smooth planed, so knots, saw marks, grain and small natural variations remain visible.
The 300mm panel is mainly a finishing component. It is deep enough for the horizontal lines to be visible above a fence but shallow enough that the existing fence remains the dominant element. This makes it useful where the aim is to introduce the slatted style across a run without adding a large amount of height or creating a strong screen.
Brown pressure treatment gives this panel an immediately darker tone while protecting the timber for outdoor use. It is not a decorative paint finish: natural variation in colour, grain and knots remains visible and the shade will change as the timber weathers.
The horizontal format can support climbing plants, but it is also useful where the trellis itself is intended to be seen as part of the garden design. Fix plant growth as required rather than assuming every climber will naturally attach to horizontal timber. You can compare all sizes in our horizontal slatted trellis range.
When fitting above a fence, support the trellis from sound posts or suitable framing and use exterior-grade fixings. Check the finished height before work begins and remember that adding trellis increases the exposed area of the boundary. Other low-height designs are available under fence topper trellis.
