That construction is used across our 2ft, 3ft and 4ft picket panel heights and across both point-top and round-top versions. The panel width remains 1830mm, so changing the panel height or top profile does not change the basic number of pales across the bay.
The approximately 70mm gaps are an important part of how picket fencing behaves. They allow light and views through the boundary, which is why picket fencing works well for front gardens, paths and internal garden divisions where the aim is to define an area without creating a solid screen. It also means a picket panel is not the right choice where full privacy is the main requirement.
