Yes. The Gate Furniture Pack can be used when refurbishing an existing timber garden gate as well as when fitting a new one, provided the gate construction and condition are suitable for the supplied hardware.
The Perry pack contains a pair of 450mm tee hinges, a 150mm ring latch and a Brenton padlockable bolt. Together these provide the gate pivot, the normal opening and closing latch and a separate lockable sliding fastening.
Before using the complete pack on an existing gate, check that the gate is square, sound and appropriately supported. The 450mm hinge straps need suitable timber across the gate face for their fixing positions, while the latch and bolt need to align correctly when the gate rests naturally in its closed position.
The pack is therefore not a universal fitting kit for every possible gate. A gate requiring a different hinge size or different hardware can instead be fitted with individual components from our garden gate furniture range.
Where the supplied fittings suit the existing garden gate, the pack provides a straightforward way to replace the principal visible operating hardware as one coordinated set.
