This 3.0m x 150mm wooden gravel board gives site-built fencing a long, continuous green/natural treated base. With a 22mm thickness and 3.0m overall length, it is intended for fencing layouts where the timber structure is being set out around the site rather than restricted to standard panel-width bays.

Positioned below the main fence, the gravel board separates the fencing above from damp soil and takes much of the splashback and low-level wear along the boundary. This is particularly useful on long timber runs because the gravel board can be replaced independently if the lower edge is damaged, without disturbing all of the vertical fencing boards.

The extra length gives flexibility when working with non-standard post centres, but it also means accurate planning is worthwhile before any cuts are made. Set out the posts and changes in level first, then cut the gravel board to suit each section. Freshly cut ends should be treated before fitting so untreated end grain is not left exposed outdoors.

This green/natural version can be paired with suitable wooden fence posts, rails and feather edge boards where a consistent treated-timber appearance is wanted. Keep the board straight as it is fixed, particularly across longer spans, because its upper edge sets the visual line beneath the rest of the fence.

The 3.0m board is most useful where its additional length reduces unnecessary joins or waste. If your project uses standard pre-made panels instead, a 1.83m board may be the more straightforward option. Browse the full wooden gravel boards range to compare available lengths.
