The 2.4m 100x47mm Wallplate - Pressure Treated Brown is a full 2.4m length of 100 x 47mm brown pressure-treated timber for suitable wallplate, outdoor framework and fencing-related fixing work. Choose the 2.4m size when the project benefits from a longer continuous member or when you want enough material to cut down to a measured non-standard length.

Because this is a straightforward rectangular section, it is easy to mark and cut accurately, but that flexibility can encourage unnecessary over-specification. If the finished piece only needs to be 1.8m or 2.1m, one of the shorter lengths may reduce waste and handling without changing the section size.

The brown pressure-treated finish gives new timber a darker, warmer starting colour while providing preservative protection for exterior use. It is not a paint coating, so grain, knots and treatment shade can vary naturally and the colour will weather after installation.

For a wall-mounted application, establish what the supporting wall is made from before selecting anchors. For timber-to-timber work, choose exterior-grade fixings suited to both components. In either case, avoid treating the wallplate as a stand-alone structural solution; its performance depends on the supports, spacing and fixings used with it.

The broader fencing timber category contains other sections and lengths. Browse screws, fixings and fasteners for the hardware side of the job, then match the fixing system to the actual substrate and completed construction.
