The 2.1m x 125x22mm 2EX Feather Edge Board - Pressure Treated Green/Natural is the longest loose feather edge board in this category at 2.1m. Its 125 x 22mm 2EX tapered profile is intended for overlapping vertical closeboard construction, but the extra length makes it a product to choose for a specific design requirement rather than simply because longer sounds stronger.

Use 2.1m boards for bespoke or replacement work where the fence genuinely needs a longer vertical board, or where sufficient material is required for trimming to a non-standard height. If a standard 1.8m board already matches the project, buying the longer version normally adds cutting and waste without changing the basic construction method.

Set out the wooden fence posts and rail positions before deciding the final board length. Taller solid fencing places more demand on the supporting structure, so posts, rails, fixings and site exposure need to be considered as a complete system rather than focusing on the vertical boards alone.

The green/natural pressure-treated finish keeps the appearance close to freshly treated timber while providing preservative protection for exterior use. Treatment colour, knots and grain will vary naturally, and the initial green tone will mellow with exposure.

Boards should be fixed vertically with a consistent overlap and aligned along the top. If the design uses cant rails, measure each span before cutting the rails and keep the framework true before boarding begins. A base board can be added where required, but remember that it also contributes to the finished height.

Compare the full range of lengths under feather edge boards. For a new closeboard run, the feather edge fence calculator can help estimate the number of boards and supporting components once the measured run and intended height are known.
