The 1.8m 100x47mm Wallplate - Pressure Treated Brown is a compact 1.8m length of 100 x 47mm pressure-treated timber for suitable wallplate, fencing-framework and repair applications. Its main advantage over buying a longer section is economy on shorter jobs: where the required member is around this length, there is less material to cut away and dispose of.

This rectangular section can provide a substantial fixing timber within a properly supported outdoor assembly. For replacement work, measure the old component in all three dimensions and check how it is attached before assuming the new timber can simply be swapped in. Similar-looking framework can use different fixing details.

This version is pressure treated with a brown finish, which gives freshly installed timber a warmer tone than green/natural treated material. Pressure treatment is there to protect the wood for outdoor use; normal knots, grain variation and gradual colour change should still be expected.

If the wallplate is being fixed to a wall or other non-timber surface, select anchors for that substrate and application. Do not rely on the timber dimensions to determine fixing strength. Mark the positions first, keep fixings away from the extreme ends where practical and drill carefully to avoid unnecessary splitting.

For alternative sections and lengths, browse fencing timber. Suitable hardware is listed under screws, fixings and fasteners; choose the final fixing system only after the supporting material and construction have been established.
