The 1.83m x 38x16mm Trellis Batten - Pressure Treated Brown is a slim 1.83m-long timber section for building or repairing trellis and other lightweight garden lattice. Its 38 x 16mm section matches the batten size used across many of our timber trellis products, making it useful when a damaged piece can be replaced without discarding an otherwise serviceable panel.

This is a component, not a finished trellis panel. It can be cut and arranged vertically, horizontally or in a crossed layout depending on the design being made. When constructing from scratch, set out the spacing before fixing so the pattern remains consistent across the frame; when repairing, compare the existing batten dimensions rather than assuming all trellis uses the same section.

This version is pressure treated with a brown finish, which gives freshly installed timber a warmer tone than green/natural treated material. Pressure treatment is there to protect the wood for outdoor use; normal knots, grain variation and gradual colour change should still be expected.

The 1.83m length is convenient for standard fencing-width projects and can be shortened for smaller repairs or bespoke sections. Use suitable exterior-grade fixings and support the finished lattice from a sound frame or posts. Thin trellis battens should not be treated as structural fence posts or heavy rails.

For loose timber sections, see our timber battens range. If a complete ready-made panel is more appropriate than fabricating or repairing one, compare the designs and sizes in trellis panels; the open square style is also available as complete traditional trellis panels.
