At 1.83m wide and 1.5m high, the 1.83M x 1.5M Privacy Square Trellis - Pressure Treated Green/Natural is designed for customers who want a closer lattice than traditional trellis while retaining an open timber structure. Its approximate 50mm square pattern reduces direct sight lines and gives climbing plants plenty of points to weave through.
The 1.5m height gives significantly more coverage than topper-sized trellis and is suited to areas where planting and screening are both important. The close square pattern can break up direct views, while the openings still allow light, airflow and stems to pass through. East Coast Fencing manufactures this privacy trellis in-house using 16 x 38mm rough sawn trellis batten. Because the timber is rough sawn, surface texture, saw marks, knots and grain variation are normal and should be expected rather than treated as defects.
A 1.5m privacy trellis should be treated as a tall panel with its own support requirements. The useful distinction from a 1.2m panel is the extra vertical coverage for both screening and climbing growth; the distinction from a full 1.83m panel is that it still leaves more openness above or below depending on how it is installed. This makes it useful where full-height coverage would feel too enclosed.
The green/natural treatment protects the timber for outdoor use while leaving its underlying grain and character easy to see. Freshly treated sections can vary in shade and will change naturally after installation as the panel is exposed to weather.
Where this panel is used as a taller screen, provide suitable posts or framing rather than expecting the trellis itself to act as the structural support. Set out the run before fixing so joints land neatly at supports, particularly where several panels are being used together.
The smaller openings make this product a better choice for filtered screening than the more open traditional pattern, but it is still trellis rather than a solid barrier. Browse the wider privacy square trellis range for other heights, or the main trellis panels category if light transmission and openness are higher priorities.
