Measuring about 1.83m high by 1.2m wide, the 1.83M x 1.2M Fan Trellis - Pressure Treated Green/Natural provides a tall framework for climbing plants without the hard rectangular top line of a conventional trellis panel. The fan profile spreads outward towards the top, helping planting create a wider display as it grows.
The wider 1.2m format gives climbing growth more room to spread and creates a more prominent decorative feature than the 0.9m version, while keeping the same tall fan-shaped form. We manufacture the panel at East Coast Fencing from rough sawn trellis timber and pressure treat it for exterior use. Buyers should expect a natural timber surface with visible grain, knots and saw texture rather than a smooth furniture-style finish.
The 1.2m version is better where the plant needs a broader framework or where the trellis is intended to be a visible feature in its own right. The extra width gives stems more routes to spread laterally as they climb. Before fixing, check that the full fan outline fits the chosen wall or boundary section and leaves enough clearance from gates, windows or other features that need to remain unobstructed.
This version uses a green/natural pressure treatment rather than a brown finish. That makes it a good match for similarly treated posts and fencing timber, but it should not be expected to look like a uniform painted product; treatment marks, knots and gradual weathering are normal.
Fix the trellis securely to a wall, fence support or other suitable structure before training plants onto it. The fixing method should suit the supporting material, and the panel should be held away from unstable or rotten timber. As plants mature, occasional tying and pruning can help distribute growth across the fan rather than loading one area.
Choose fan trellis when the purpose is to create a decorative climbing feature. It is not designed to provide solid privacy. See the other widths in our fan trellis range or compare square and slatted alternatives under trellis panels.
