The 1.83M x 0.9M Slatted Trellis - Pressure Treated Brown is a half-height horizontal slatted screen, measuring 1.83m wide by 0.9m high. Instead of a square lattice, the battens run horizontally to give the panel a strong linear appearance and a different style of filtered screening.
East Coast Fencing manufactures this slatted trellis from pressure-treated rough sawn timber. At 900mm high, this panel is large enough for garden zoning, partial screening and planting support rather than simply topping a fence. The open slatted construction keeps it visually lighter than a solid timber panel. The surface is intentionally textured rather than smooth planed, so knots, saw marks, grain and small natural variations remain visible.
A 900mm slatted panel is substantial enough to use as an open screen in its own right. It can define a patio edge, separate planting areas or add a contemporary upper section to lower fencing. The horizontal gaps mean it filters a view rather than blocking it, and climbing plants can increase the amount of cover over time if more screening is wanted.
The brown pressure treatment gives the timber a darker, warmer appearance that sits naturally alongside brown-treated fencing. Pressure treatment is applied for exterior use and improves the timber’s resistance to decay compared with untreated wood; the colour will still weather and vary naturally outdoors.
The horizontal format can support climbing plants, but it is also useful where the trellis itself is intended to be seen as part of the garden design. Fix plant growth as required rather than assuming every climber will naturally attach to horizontal timber. You can compare all sizes in our horizontal slatted trellis range.
For a taller screen, provide suitable posts or framing and support both panel edges. This is an open trellis screen, not a solid privacy fence, so some visibility remains through the slatted layout. If full visual separation is essential, consider whether a product from the fence panels range is more appropriate.
