The 1.65m x 125x22mm 2EX Feather Edge Board - Pressure Treated Green/Natural is the intermediate 1.65m option in our loose feather edge range. It uses the same 125 x 22mm 2EX tapered profile as the other boards but gives a finished board length between 1.5m and 1.8m, which can be important when the whole fence height has been planned around a separate base board or an existing stepped boundary.
One common reason to choose 1.65m rather than automatically buying 1.8m is to leave room within the planned fence height for a separate gravel board. A 150mm wooden gravel board is available, but measure the complete arrangement before ordering because ground levels, capping and existing structures can alter the final height.
As with all feather edge construction, the boards are installed vertically with their tapered edges overlapped. Set the post and rail framework first, establish a repeatable overlap and use a string line to prevent the top of a long run drifting up or down as each board is fixed.
This version has a green/natural pressure treatment rather than a brown finish. The treatment is intended for outdoor protection, not to create a uniform decorative coating, so normal differences in grain, knots, treatment marks and colour are part of the timber.
If the fence uses traditional profiled supports, choose cant rails and posts that suit the intended construction. Do not assume that changing only the board length is enough when adapting an existing fence; the post length, rail positions and base detail also need to work with the revised height.
The full feather edge boards range contains 1.5m and 1.8m alternatives if 1.65m does not match the design. For new runs, the feather edge fence calculator can help with quantities once the layout has been measured.
