The 1.65m x 125x22mm 2EX Feather Edge Board - Pressure Treated Brown is an individual tapered timber board for building traditional closeboard fencing from separate components. Measuring 1.65m long and sold as a 125 x 22mm 2EX feather edge board, it is intended for closeboard fencing where the board length needs to sit between the common 1.5m and 1.8m sizes. Unlike a pre-made panel, loose feather edge lets the fence be built around the actual length and post positions of the boundary.

Feather edge boards are fixed vertically and overlapped along their edges so the finished run forms a continuous timber face. The overlap is important: placing the boards edge-to-edge would leave gaps as timber moves and weathers. Fix them to a suitable horizontal framework such as cant rails where that construction method is being used, and keep the top line consistent with a string line rather than judging each board separately.

The 1.65m length is especially useful when the fence design needs a precise intermediate board height. It can also work well in arrangements where a separate gravel board contributes part of the finished fence height, but the complete layout should be measured before materials are ordered rather than assuming every installation uses the same combination.

Brown pressure treatment combines exterior preservative treatment with a darker initial appearance. Because this is natural timber rather than a uniform manufactured surface, individual pieces can differ in grain, knots and shade and will continue to weather outdoors.

A wooden gravel board can be used below a timber closeboard run where the design calls for a replaceable barrier between the vertical boards and ground-level moisture. The posts and rails still need to be selected to suit the height and spacing of the particular fence. Our wooden fence posts range provides compatible timber support options, but post length should be chosen from the complete fence arrangement rather than from board length alone.

Choose this board when the specified length matches the fence you are actually building or repairing. If you are calculating quantities for a new run, our feather edge fence calculator can help estimate the number of boards and other components required. Other board lengths and treatment colours are available in the feather edge boards range.
