At 1.2m long, the 1.2m x 125x22mm 2EX Feather Edge Board - Pressure Treated Green/Natural is intended for lower solid fencing where more enclosure is wanted than a 0.9m board provides but a full-height privacy run would be unnecessary. It is a 125 x 22mm 2EX feather edge board, designed to overlap with adjacent vertical boards as part of traditional closeboard construction.

The 1.2m size suits garden zoning, reduced-height boundary sections and repairs where the existing vertical boards are the same length. Because individual feather edge is not tied to a fixed panel width, it is particularly useful where the run ends at an awkward point or the post centres vary from one section to the next.

Set the support framework first, then fix the boards vertically with a consistent overlap. Suitable wooden fence posts and rails need to be chosen for the complete fence, not simply because they are made from the same treatment colour. Keep the board tops aligned and use exterior-grade fixings suited to the timber thickness.

The green/natural pressure-treated finish keeps the appearance close to freshly treated timber while providing preservative protection for exterior use. Treatment colour, knots and grain will vary naturally, and the initial green tone will mellow with exposure.

If the fence needs a sacrificial timber at ground level, consider a wooden gravel board beneath the feather edge. That can reduce direct ground contact at the bottom of the main boarding and makes the lowest component easier to replace independently.

Compare 1.2m with the shorter and longer options under feather edge boards. For a whole new run, the feather edge fence calculator is useful for estimating board quantities once the post spacing and run length are known.
