Yes, our John George 150mm flush head screws can suit certain railway sleeper joints. The correct fixing still depends on the thickness and arrangement of the timber being joined.
Yes. The supplied product specification for our John George 150mm Flush Head Screws identifies suitable railway sleeper joints and other substantial landscaping timber as applications where the extra screw length can be useful.
The screws are 150mm long and manufactured from hardened steel with a green organic coating. That coating is specified as having been tested to 1,000 hours of salt spray resistance. Each fixing also has a self-drilling point, milling shank and flush head.
The length should still be matched to the actual timber joint rather than assuming every sleeper connection requires a 150mm screw. The fixing needs sufficient engagement in the receiving timber without the point emerging through an exposed face.
The same fixing is supplied as a tube of 10 for smaller jobs and a box of 50 for larger quantities. A driver bit is supplied with each pack format.
