The 1.83M x 1.2M Slatted Trellis - Pressure Treated Brown is a medium-height slatted screening panel, measuring 1.83m wide by 1.2m high. Instead of a square lattice, the battens run horizontally to give the panel a strong linear appearance and a different style of filtered screening.
East Coast Fencing manufactures this slatted trellis from pressure-treated rough sawn timber. The 1.2m height gives this panel enough presence to define seating areas, planting zones or boundary sections. It provides filtered screening through horizontal timber lines, but it should not be treated as a fully private solid barrier. The surface is intentionally textured rather than smooth planed, so knots, saw marks, grain and small natural variations remain visible.
The 1.2m panel is a practical middle height for screening areas where a 900mm panel feels too low but a 1.5m or 1.83m screen would be excessive. It can create a clear visual break around seating or service areas while still allowing light through. Plan the supporting frame carefully so the horizontal lines stay level across adjoining panels.
Brown pressure treatment gives this panel an immediately darker tone while protecting the timber for outdoor use. It is not a decorative paint finish: natural variation in colour, grain and knots remains visible and the shade will change as the timber weathers.
The horizontal format can support climbing plants, but it is also useful where the trellis itself is intended to be seen as part of the garden design. Fix plant growth as required rather than assuming every climber will naturally attach to horizontal timber. You can compare all sizes in our horizontal slatted trellis range.
For a taller screen, provide suitable posts or framing and support both panel edges. This is an open trellis screen, not a solid privacy fence, so some visibility remains through the slatted layout. If full visual separation is essential, consider whether a product from the fence panels range is more appropriate.
