The Perry BZP 6 inch (150mm) Pad Bolt is a sliding gate bolt with a padlock facility, giving a timber gate or outdoor door a simple secondary fastening that can also be locked when required. At 150mm long, it is compact enough for typical garden gate hardware while still providing a positive sliding action.

The bolt is made from steel with a bright zinc plated finish. BZP provides a protective metallic coating for external use. The padlock facility means the bolt can be used simply as a manual fastening during normal use and secured with a compatible padlock when restricted access is needed.

Positioning is more important than simply fixing the bolt wherever there is space. Close the gate first, hold the bolt and keep in the intended positions, and check that the sliding part enters the keep freely without pulling the gate sideways. Allow for normal timber movement and gate alignment so the bolt does not become difficult to operate. Other complementary fittings are available in our garden gate furniture range.

This pad bolt is suitable where a separate lockable fastening is wanted on a compatible timber garden gate or outdoor door. Use exterior fixings suitable for the timber and periodically check that the fixing screws remain tight and that gate movement has not put the bolt and keep out of alignment.
