The Perry 300mm Traditional Door Drop Bolt is a single sliding bolt for holding a timber gate or outdoor door in its closed position. The 300mm length gives a useful amount of travel for a gate that needs a positive secondary fastening, particularly where a simple latch alone does not control the bottom of the gate leaf.
A drop bolt is normally fitted vertically to the gate and operated by sliding the bolt down into a suitable receiver or prepared position below. Before fitting, close the gate in its intended position and mark where the bolt naturally meets the surface below. The mounting position should also leave enough timber around the fixings for a secure installation.
