The Green Pressure Treated 1.2m x 0.9m Round Top Picket Gate is the taller round top option for garden entrances where a stronger boundary line is wanted while retaining the open, welcoming character of picket fencing. It is 1.2m high and 900mm wide, with rounded pale tops that give the gate a softer finish than the equivalent point top design.

The 1.2m height gives this gate noticeably more presence than the lower 0.6m and 0.9m versions. It can be useful on front garden boundaries, wider planted areas and other locations where a low gate would look out of proportion. The spaces between the pales still allow views through, so the extra height should not be confused with privacy. For a coordinated fence line, round top picket fence panels can continue the same curved profile either side of the entrance.

East Coast Fencing manufactures the gate from pressure-treated timber with a green/natural treatment colour. It has a sawn finish and an overall depth of 50mm. Pressure treatment helps protect against fungal decay, rot and insect attack, while the natural timber surface will show grain, knots and normal colour variation rather than a completely uniform manufactured finish.

The additional height makes sound installation particularly important. Select gate posts appropriate to the gate and site, install them upright, and calculate the finished opening from the gate plus the required hinge and latch clearances. If the entrance is on a gradient, check the ground through the full swing before hanging the gate so the bottom edge has enough clearance to move freely.

This gate is suited to customers who prefer a rounded picket profile but do not want a low boundary. Smaller heights and point top variants can be compared in our picket gates range. Finish the installation with suitable hinges and a latch selected from garden gate furniture.

Quick answer: Choose a feather edge garden gate when privacy and a solid traditional appearance are the priorities, a picket gate for an open front garden or internal boundary, and a double slatted..
