The Green Pressure Treated 1.2m x 0.9m Point Top Picket Gate is a tall open picket gate for garden boundaries where more height is wanted without changing to a solid boarded design. Manufactured by East Coast Fencing, it measures 1.2m high by 900mm wide and uses pointed pale tops to give the entrance a strong traditional outline.
Compared with the 0.6m and 0.9m point top gates, the 1.2m version creates a more prominent boundary and is better suited to entrances where the gate needs to feel substantial within the garden layout. It remains a picket gate, however, so the spaces between the pales preserve visibility through the fence. This is useful where openness is part of the design, but it means the gate should not be selected as a privacy screen. Matching point top picket fence panels can be used alongside it.
The timber is pressure treated with a green/natural finish to help protect against rot, fungal decay and insect attack. It has a sawn surface and overall depth of 50mm. The sawn texture and natural variation in the timber suit traditional fencing and should be expected to weather gradually once exposed outdoors.
A 1.2m-high gate needs accurate support and setting out. Use suitable gate posts, position them plumb and allow for the actual hinges and latch when establishing the opening. The gate itself is 900mm wide, but installation clearance is additional. On sloping ground, check the full arc of the gate before deciding whether it should open inward or outward so the bottom edge remains clear.
Choose this version where point top styling and the greatest picket gate height in this range are both wanted. If the boundary needs the same height but a softer outline, the round top alternative may suit better. Other variants are available within picket gates, with suitable installation hardware available from garden gate furniture.
