The Green Pressure Treated 0.6m x 0.9m Round Top Picket Gate is intended for low garden boundaries where a soft, open picket appearance is preferred. At 600mm high and 900mm wide, it creates a clear pedestrian entrance without introducing the visual weight of a taller or solid-boarded gate. East Coast Fencing manufactures this version with rounded pale tops to complement traditional round top picket fencing.
Its low height makes it particularly useful around front lawns, paths, planted areas and internal garden sections. Because the gate remains open between the pales, it keeps light and views moving through the boundary. That is an advantage when the aim is decorative separation, but it also means the gate is not intended to provide privacy. Matching round top picket fence panels can be used to maintain the same gentle top line along the adjoining run.
The gate is made from pressure-treated timber in a green/natural finish, with a sawn surface and overall depth of 50mm. The treatment helps protect against fungal decay, rot and insect attack. As with other exterior timber products, colour, grain and surface character will vary naturally and the initial green/natural tone will change with weather exposure.
Installation should be planned around the actual hardware rather than the nominal 900mm width alone. Hinges, latch and working clearance all take up space. Check the chosen fittings first, then position appropriate gate posts so the gate can swing without binding against the post or ground. A string line can help keep the gate aligned with an adjoining picket fence during setting out.
